I purchased these boots not for walking but for work. I am a gardener and needed good waterproof boots, not heavy, with good grip on a variety of surfaces.
I have worn them for 5/6 days a week since February and have no complaints.
They have proved to be an excellent purchase, so much so that I am buying a second pair for when these wear out.
I also use when walking dogs on the moors, in woodlands etc.

This the third pair of this type of boots my husband has bought over the past four years. The last two pairs soles split away from the uppers.
We chose them because they are so comfortable and supportive and we are hoping that this pair fare better as so many of the reviews we read before purchase were of a very positive nature.
Only time will tell, Perhaps you should come back to us in a years time.

I have been looking for a very wide lightweight walking boot for a year or so ever since my Hi-Tec EuroTrek boots wore out and the present ones are somewhat narrower.
Since receiving these I have done a couple of hilly walks (10 to 12 miles each) in fairly hot conditions without problems and am so happy I have ordered another pair for when these wear out.
I wouldn't recommend these for very wet winter conditions as the leather is relatively thin and they don't have a Gortex lining but that isn't a problem for me as I use my Meindl Matrei Comfort Fit size 14 (about £160) for that even though they aren't as comfortable as the Hi-Tec Altitude IV Wide size 13.
