I was (am) a massive fan of the Glitter Band but I'm going to do my best to be as objective as possible. Following the first two singles (both included on this album) Angel face (UK no 5)and just for you (UK No8) an album "Hey" was released. The problem with this album is that it sounds rushed. The tracks are mostly covers which is ok but I think that the band could write great songs and I think this would have been a better record if they had waited a bit and did some original compositions, having said that there are some great moments here like the version of "Gimme some loving" which is just fantastic and so well arranged. It also sounds like it was recorded in a hurry to cash in on the success of the singles. Rock and Roll dudes is a much better effort. However, having said that there are some wonderfull moments here like "Shout it out" and "Tell Him" the rest just sounds like it was done very fast and a bit tinny in sound. Still good to have it on CD with the added bonus tracks which are great original songs and if there is one reason for getting this CD, it would be for "you know you should be glad" because it should have been a single, it's fantastic and criminal that this track was not released in the 70s and now is one of my favorite Glitter band songs.
