My son loved his Hexbug presents so much I decided to add this to the collection. His original are first version which cannot go up tunnels, so I bought some additional V2s to go with this new purchase. I feel all of it was a waste of money.
The V2s do not right themselves very well when they're on their side and I am continually removing bugs from tubes due to blockages.
I will buy several more first version bugs with the appropriate tracks, but the V2 range was too much of a stretch for the manufacturer's capabilities.
To note, I have used brand new batteries, ensured tubes are fixed properly etc. Just doesn't seem to be as enjoyable for my son as the original. Didn't vote 1 star as still used some track along with the original purchases.

Yet another crazy building in this series, which brings hours of endless enjoyment to my eight year old grandson. Great.

I would say this was a good toy, the building of the runs is the most fun but not the taking it apart every few minutes to rescue a bug that is trapped (or often two bugs get stuck together) as it can't make it up a vertical as the batteries are not brand new. You will be buying a lot of LR44 batteries in the near future or this will gather dust

My 6 year old son gives it 20 stars so kids will love it. I give it 4 as the pipe leading to the tower part is a bit wobbly & bug sometimes gets stuck

This was for my grandson who loves it and has it permanently set up.
He particularly likes the spiral.
He has the Hurricane as well

The promotional videos and in store demonstrations of this product looked great, but soon after setting it up on Christmas Day some big issues appeared:

The instructions are terrible, as Ashens would say "printed on a single sheet of toilet paper". You will end up using the picture on the box to piece it all together.

None of the joints feel particularly secure, but the watch tower itself just rests on the top piece of tube, it is very easy to knock off.

The Nano bugs get stuck if traveling from the second level to the watch tower EVERY time - the tube gets quite narrow where the "valve" is and you have to take everything apart to free them.

If two bugs are passing each other on the twisted pipe up to the watch tower they also get stuck.

The Nano bugs fall on their side very often - not helped by the 180 degree tubes. This is the worst issue - they cannot be left for more than 5 minutes before ending up on their side, scuttling around in a corner.

The above problems made this kit a frustrating experience, I would not recommend it. It's a pity because when it is working it is quite impressive, maybe the older Nano sets that don't involve any climbing are more reliable, but I have never tried those.
