The HEXBUG Nano is a tiny, collectable, micro robotic creature that uses the physics of vibration to propel forward and explore its environment. Powered by a tiny motor, and 12 fixed, angular legs, the industrious critter traverses the ground beneath it and quickly navigates through the most complex mazes. Possessing an uncanny sense of balance, it can even flip to its feet and zoom forward when turned on its back! When coming into contact with an object in its path, the energetic insect will switch directions and scurry away on a new path due to its persistent random behaviour.

This little bug was so much fun, for both kids and adults. It provides amusement for ages, especially for kids, as it acts exactly like a bug, trying to scuttle and bury itself and run away from you.
The design is very clever and very simple. It has a small vibrator inside, and with the bendy rubber legs it looks like it is actually running. If it flips over the vibrator flips it over so it can keep on scurrying away. Doesn't work on soft surfaces like carpet obviously. Fairly sturdy and I don't think it would break easily.
To get a bit more fun from it, you can try building it an obstacle course, or a "playpen" so it won't run away from you and you can just watch it find all the little holes and weak points and push through to try to escape. If you have more than one, you can try to race them against each other.
The only downside is that if just one of your kids has one, all the other ones will beg you to get them their own bug!

We bought this nano hex bug after our son had seen it advertised many times...he loved it! We were even intrigued by it!!! It's a clever little robot! We will be buying another!

My son loved these when he received them for his birthday recently. I bought replacement batteries here on Amazon too from a very quick & reliable seller- much cheaper than local shops. See my other reviews!
