Incredible quality for an affordable price,
This review is from: HP PhotoSmart 7960 (Electronics)
Although a little more expensive than some other printers in the same category this printer beats them all hands down in quality and features. Using the HP photo paper gives the best results (there are some issues with the rollers when using lower grades of paper) which are touch dry in only a matter of seconds. Using 8 colours (2 grey shades now too) gives unbeatable photo realism both in colour and B&W for this level of printer. The ability to preview shots and perform some basic manipulation on them (red eye reduction for instance) is a bonus, especially being able to do it direct from some cameras and from the majority of the camera memory devices. Only real gripe is HP's insistence to use Tri-Colour tanks rather than having them all seperately.

Impressed!,

Having looked at many printers before buying the HP7960, my first photo printer, it was well worth the two week delivery wait. It was easy to set up and get working (first time, no problems), the software is great and most importantly the picture quality is first class. Photo editing, printing (all sizes), archiving and management are pleasurable tasks using the HP Director software that comes with the printer. The build quality is excellent and it looks the part too. Direct connection to cameras is simple via easily accessible ports on the front of the printer, neatly hidden behind a smoked perspex screen. On screen instructions from the LCD and simple (obvious) buttons mean that using your PC is only needed if you need to edit before printing. A great all round package with professional results at the best price from Amazon. Delighted!

1 Minor problem,

While I agree this is one awsome printer, it might have been nice if HP had made it clear what size cards had been tested. I have a 1 GB Kingston CompactFlash, which works fine, but the printer refuses to accept my 2.2 GB Magicstore CF Microdrive. HP admitted that they had not tested anything bigger than 1 GB! I reported this to HP in December, and although admitting the problem, at the time of writing, no fix.
