Product Description

From the Back Cover

If you'd seen one Leaning Tower, you'd seen them all. Hetty had seen the leaning spire at Chesterfield: the tower of Pisa was nothing so special. She was in a picky mood and had been since the start of their trip in a made-over charabanc with time-expired tires, touring Tuscany with the Outhwaites and twenty-six Senior Citizen from the Blackburn/Darwen/Bolton area, all of whom already seemed to be confused by the persistent rain in sunny Italy.

And what was happening to the Wainthropp Detective Agency with its founder gallivanting abroad? Could Geoffrey be trusted keep it ticking over? Thus Hetty fretted, not knowing that in a few short hours she would be plunged into mystery, excitement – and possible Mafia connection.

I really loved reading this book. It's exactly like the episodes on the t.v. series, and it's lots of fun to read.

Normally a TV series follows a book. This was the other way round, and frankly, for me, didn't work. Patricia Routledge made the TV series the success it was, and without her voice and those of the other main characters, the storyline just seems less than convincing. My advice is don't waste your money on the book, get the DVD instead.

The story plot lines; and character's are flat and un-interesting. A five year old child could come up with better story lines, and could decipher - "who done it" in a moment.

I have watched the Hetty Wainthrop series and thought I would try the book. It pretty much follows the TV tale. It is good light reading.
