Format:Audio CD
Nigel Hess is surely one of the unsung musical heroes of present day British Music. We can identify him simply as 'that bloke who write the telly tunes', but what tunes they are. The 'Ivor Novello' award winning 'Hetty Wainthropp Investigates' is a confirmed classic. However to truly marvel at the power and emotion of his work, 'The Catskills' from the East Coast Pictures is astounding. People who love music will love this. Its that simple.

Format:Audio CD
I recommend this CD to anyone who is interested in modern wind band or orchestral music. Having played the music in the National Youth Wind Orchestra of Wales in the past, I have seen first hand how truly wonderful the arrangements are. I can't wait for more similar CD's of this quality and majesty.

Not a good source for the "Hetty Winthrop" theme

If you're a fan of the theme song of the "Hetty Wainthrop" detective series on PBS's "Mystery!" you might be tempted by the CD cut "The TV Detectives." The theme song melody is a small part of this larger work, but the arrangement just doesn't measure up.
