Since she was a child, Alethea Vaughn Channing keeps having visions of a man she has never met. Now at the age of 19 and recently made a widow, the dreams tell her the man is in danger and she feels she must warn him, although she realises he may think she is crazy. The man she has dreams of is Lord Hartley Greville, a spy for the King, who has slept with many important women in order to gain information vital to his job. When he meets Alethea, he is trying to seduce Lady Claudette, one of the women Alethea believes he should avoid if he wants to live. He is skeptical at first, but over time, both Alethea and Hartley gather evidence to suggest Alethea's visions are true. Both fall in love, but it is not without its obstacles, as Alethea is worried Hartley could never love her, due to his reputation, and she now has to watch her own back, now Claudette wishes her dead for interferring.
Overall, the book is excellent. I really enjoyed reading this book. Usually in Hannah's books, the man discovers much later on that he loves the girl, but in this story, he finds this out earlier. This is what helps it to make the story more romantic. Well done, Hannah.
