It's December 1941 and a Japanese naval strike force heads towards the island of Hawaii with just one aim in mind - obliterating Pearl Harbor
Battles themselves start off in a relatively serene fashion as you swat aside tiny squadrons, but soon the skies are swarming with wave upon wave of fighters and bombers. Hundreds of Axis and Allied planes start swooping, soaring and rat-at-at-ing at once.
Lovely presentation (complete with authentic WW2 recruitment posters) and touches such as enemies parachuting from doomed wrecks and hair-raising barrel-rolling physics adds a layer of sheen to war in the Pacific Theatre.
With a whopping 35 US and Japanese aircraft on offer and choice of arcade of "professional" controls, this Boy's Own adventure is looking like a refreshingly original and engaging ride.

Heros of the Pacific is overall a great game. The genre is a good mix between a flight simulator and an action/war game.
The game has it's good areas but also bad areas, the worst part of this game is how many times you are going to see the "mission falied" screen. Some missions are near impossible and making yu feel like you've wasted your money. But don't let that put you off the game because if you like the war/flight sim genre then this will be a samrt choice.

Lots of fun and excitement. Dogfights and bombing. Loads of missions and unlocking loads of planes from WW2. Fun multiplayer too. If you haven't played Scratch one Flat Top on multiplayer, you gotta try it.

I loved this game - very absorbing, addictive etc. HOWEVER, God is it hard! Some missions I would play 20-30 times before accomplishing them, and I am certainly not incompetent. It can be very hard to know what you are doing wrong. So eventually I got frustrated looking for tips and walkthroughs online and just stopped playing.
