i've never heard the bowie original so don't have a point of reference to compare the x factor finalists against.but as charity singles go i wasn't throwing my cd player out of the window when i played it. on the contrary it drives along quite nicely. obviously some of the vocalists are better than others, cher & katie stand out of the crowd on the track. nice bit of electric guitar going on as well in the background. initially i was only going to buy it for the charity element, it's grown on me though.

I enjoy following the talent programs and especially listening to the final ones and this album was for a good cause as well. By playing it I will be reminded of some of the better talent chosen out of so many.

Didn't like the song sung by the X-Factorettes but worth the donation to our Brave Heroes. Nice One whoever thought of it in the X-Factor set-up.

I'm all for supporting the soldiers, and for this charity. And I don't mind the X Factor, although I'm not a huge fan. But, why, oh why, have they used THIS song for "Help for Heroes"?

The song itself has nothing to do with the soldiers, or the conflict in Afganistan, or ANYTHING like that - it's about the Berlin Wall, the division of Germany, and two lovers meeting at the Wall. Why, why, WHY? It doesn't make any sense used this way!

The release of this song just seems to be jumping on the charity bandwagon. "Hey, look at us, aren't we caring? We don't care what the song's actually about, we'll just rape it of it's meaning and slap a charity sticker on it. More publicity for us!" I wouldn't mind it so much otherwise - but it seems as though Cowell just chose this song because the title happened to be "Heroes", and was too lazy to actually find a song that matched the charity he's apparantly supporting.

Hey, Simon. Next time you want to do a charity single, at least pick a song that has something to do with the subject in question. Not doing so just makes you look lazy and ignorant.

Excellent charity single....
But why wasn't Wagner on it?
Because he hasn't got a singing voice and even the recording studio couldn't sort it!!!!!
