I buy a lot of How to Draw books. Some are OK and some are absolute gems.
This is a gem.
64 pages but not one of them wasted. Covering costumes, characters, colours and poses a lot of it is pretty standard BUT the style of drawing is the simple line (retro?) making it easy to follow.
Probably not for anybody beyond beginner it doesn't cover much draw theory but brilliant examples of creating superhero characters simply.
Just what I was looking for.

Great drawing book 24 Oct 2008
By Erin McNew - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Paperback
My 10 year old son got this book from the library, and renewed it several times. He works a lot on his drawing with this book and loves his results. He finally asked me to buy the book for him, so he didn't have to keep borrowing it from the library. He gives it 5 stars.

Great Drawing Book 2 Jan 2011

This book has given my twin boys hours of fun. They checked this book out at their school library and are constantly drawing and learning from it that I decided to buy them their own. I recommend this book if you have a child that loves to draw.
Sparks so much creativity! 31 Mar 2012

We originally borrowed this book from the library. My 5 year-old would not put it down and after many renewals, we purchased it. The author, Jay Stephens, has some heroes with their own story lines, which my son loves. The author does a great job of explaining the many drawing options for every aspect of the heroes; face structure, features, costumes, powers, etc., and what they all exude. My son has become more aware of the details of cartoons he sees and enjoys drawing his own characters. We also purchased Stephen's robot book, and will give this to my son after he puts the heroes one down!
