I was lucky enought to get an advance copy from one of my sources! ;-)

Great stuff! Hearing from the stars of our only World Cup winning team has really got me excited about the competition about to kick off in Germany.

There are some revealling, in depth interivews with Banks, Peters, Ball, Charlton and Cohen. There is some great insight into the build up, the games, and how the victory effected them.

The best bit was Jack Charlton talking about the violent game against Argentina, he is so obviously still wound up about their over brutal approach. Also interesting to hear the footballers wives were not involved in any of the celebrations... can you see today's crop sitting on the side lines if our boys were to go on and win?

One of the extra features is some COLOUR news reel footage of the final against the Germans - which i did not think existed. The original commentary is quite amusing.

The book is cool, and has some interesting player profiles, stats, and photos.

Can't go wrong with this set! Let's hope there can be a "Heroes of '06" edition to follow.

I stumbled across the Heroes of '66 DVD on a different site and it sounded an interesting item so I purchased it. With what seems like 100's of football DVDs out in time for the World Cup this one seemed like a little cracker as it looks back over the 1966 World Cup finals (hence the title).

Being a little to young to remember the '66 finals this great DVD and book incorporates loads of footage plus indepth interviews with 5 of the players who featured in the finals. Hearing Jack Charlton talk about Bobby Moore was fascinating to be honest to hear all of the guys talking about the finals was great. The book provides you with a England player profile and match stats from the games.

I would have no problem recommending this title to other English football fans out there
