Heroes of Hellas 2: Olympia (Nintendo DS)

I haven't played this game before but I thought it would make a change to the other 3+ games I have done. Well, it is different and I am totally lost! You match 3+ but not by sliding tiles along, you drag the pen along as many as will match and when you take it away, they disappear to be replaced by other tiles. Some items are locked in the tiles and you have to match at least two tiles before you can include this one. Some tiles bases are gold coloured and these need to be removed too. I am struggling to fathom out why the tiles change colour. I am trying to remove lower tiles so that the colours that drop make 3+ but they change colour as they drop! There is a lot more to this game which I don't understand including the Gods pieces which you have to collect to enable that God to help you, it also says there is a help section if you press START but I have yet to trigger that and despite numerous attempts, have yet to find it. I am at a loss as what to do with the fire rings which rip across the tiles removing loads, but I would like to direct it more to ones that I need rather than they fly across scattering loads (but they do add to your score.) Which brings me to another point, I can't understand the scoring system! I don't understand which colours are more worthwhile than others either.
I have managed to buy some buildings and get people to build some of my palace but that has been by more luck than judgement! Is there anyone out there who can help me to understand this game more and make it far more interesting for me? I do still 'like' it but it hasn't got me hooked yet like the Cradle series did.

I am more than a little disappointed with this game. Either it is my game or just the way it is played. I find it repetative and dull. I seen to have been stuck on the same level for ages.

Not the best game of it's kind. A bit repetitive, nothing else except matching gems. Still spent far too long playing it!
