Book Description

Heroes is the second story in the Harry Waters Series and the immediate sequel to Islands of No Return.

Sometimes whatever you do the World conspires against you. In Heroes we find Harry fighting for his freedom, his career, against alcoholism and to preserve what is left of his nightmare-ravaged sanity.

On trial for murdering his best friend, Harry stands condemned by the man who was responsible for leaving his men to die in the deserts of Iraq. And worse, damned by the testimony of the woman he loves. The trial is a public relations disaster for the Army and quickly becomes the nexus of a hysterical media feeding frenzy.

Harry is trapped in the middle of a battle he knows he cannot win. Beset with self-loathing his career is wrecked, he has lost the woman he loves and he is facing the prospect of a life behind bars. He has hit rock bottom.

But sometimes it is only when you hit rock bottom that you finally discover the strength to stand tall.

Also in the Harry Waters series:

Book 1 – Islands of No Return
Book 2 - Heroes
Book 3 - Brothers in Arms

More About the Author

James Philip was born in London. He and his wife live in Hampshire in the heart of the south of England.

Having despaired of ever getting his fiction published by main stream publishers he has embraced the e-publishing revolution with something akin to glee.

Surprised by the positive reception to the e-publication of Until the Night and several of his other books, he has now become a full time writer for the first time in his life and is currently working on a large number of new projects including additional instalments to existing series.

For many years a civil servant, since around 2000 James Philip has been a freelance IT Consultant, historian, researcher, technical author, copywriter and lately, an e-publishing author with a steadily expanding readership.

His books revolve around his fascination with character driven story telling. He believes there is no secret to persuading a reader to turn the page of a book; one simply has to make it worth his or her while. A good yarn is a good yarn in any generation and James Philip tries hard never to forget it.

I thought this was brilliant, especially so given it's price.

Read the previous in the series and then read this, you won't be sorry.

4.0 out of 5 stars very good follow on 27 Sept. 2014
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
After reading the first book which set the scene but skipped fairly quickly through his SAS career, this book really came alive! It is one I didn't want to put down.
Looking forward to number 3 Brothers in Arms.

A moving and unusual story with great twists. Interaction between characters cleverly 'woven'. Court scenes very visual. You could picture yourself there. Really got immersed in this book!
