I, unhesitatingly, endorse this film with five stars and would add five more for its superb central performance by Cuba Redding Jr, surely one of the most under rated male actors (Jerry Maguire oscar aside), as a complex, lonely and desperate man caught up in the unlikely and uncomfortable role as public hero.
The writing is brilliant with as many plot swerves and twists as anything from the pen of Tarantino (he would give his right arm for a story like this) or David Lynch.
Due to the unpredictability and complex narrative and the lack of moralising this is a great film that has no doubt lost its way through poor marketing and promotion. Give it a try I guarantee you will be amazed.

The last few years, Cuba Gooding Jr. has seen his star status fall to the level of starring in several DTV action films a year like Snipes (when not serving time), Lundgren, Seagal and Van Damme. This one comes from one of my favourite studios of all time, Nu Image, a specialist of the b-movie action film. Some very solid action choreography throughout keeps the pace high and the supporting cast, including Ray Liotta, Christa Campbell, and the underrated Tommy Flanagan, are above average for the film type. The story is quite blunt and to the point and doesn't hold back in pointing out Liam's (Gooding Jr) downfalls and bad character traits and for that it should be somewhat commended, although the ending was a little bit of a copout. The story was well structured and although nothing new, is worth a look for people who enjoy these DTV features. As a fan of these DTV-actioners, I hope to see more like this from Gooding. 3/5

sorry to say after buying this brand new, i was dissappointed with it, too much flash backs going on, and not always in sequence either, very confusing, some might enjoy it, but not for me
