Sophie Hannah's first poetry collection 'The Hero and the Girl Next Door' clearly displays her talent as a uniquely humourous poet. Her poems are about human relationships and modern life as a student, worker and lover.

She uses old metric forms with a modern twist which never fails to surprise and delight. Any fan of poetry will enjoy Sophie Hannah's work.
