Frankie has come a long way from her more raucous days with The Vivian Girls & The Dum Dum Girls and has now finally perfected her move into dream pop territory.
Her album with 'The Outs' was good but not brilliant, 'Interstellar' was a big improvement but this is definitely her best to date.
Her vocals are as lovely as ever, the guitars twang & blaze in equal parts and the songs are all great.
There's the usual dreamy stuff but a lot of variation too. 'The Depths' has a more bass(y) sound with slightly (but still nice) off kilter vocals, 'Cliffs as high' is more sombre and orchestral, 'Requiem' has some brass accompaniment and 'Street of dreams' has other wordly vocals with an unusual 'proggy' coda!
Highly recommended.

In a way, it's like "Interstellar" volume 2, but the songs are different - and, just in case anyone wants something different from the previous album, why change a winning formula?

The songs are uptempo, guitar-based and joyously happy. The production is full-on and highlight her retro-style voice. All tracks on this album are written by Frankie except the Damned's "Streets of Dreams" which is brilliantly interpreted.

Just one criticism about the digi-pack - I would love a bit more information (musicians, lyrics, photos of our heroin), but I cope without all of that.

At 37 minutes, it's not a long album, but it is brilliant. I love it

Great album, and even better live 25 Feb. 2014
By Paul Allaer - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Audio CD
I recently saw Frankie Rose in concert for the first time (more on that later). Rose has been involved with bands like Vivian Girls and Dum Dum Girls but a few years ago struck out on her own. This latest release marks her third album. If you are not familiar with Frankie Rose, think indie pop-meets-new wave.

"Herein Wild" (10 tracks; 37 min.) stars off tentatively with "You For Me", but it isn't long before things perk up with "Sorrow" (despite that title). "Into Blue" is the perfect 3 min. indie-pop song. "Cliffs As High" is a bit of a stretch for Rose, adding even strings for more depth, but somehow it sounds good. Deeper into the album, we find several more gems, including the 1-2 punch of more perfect 3 min. songs, "Question/Reason" and "Heaven". The album closes with a pensive "Requiem" (featuring a trumpet no less). In the end, this album musically falls somewhere between her earlier two, and hence making it Frankie Rose's most accomplished and listener-friendly album to date. With a running time of just 37 min., the album just flies by, and you'll want to play it again and again.

I saw Frankie Rose in concert this past weekend at the 9:30 Club in Washington, where she opened for White Lies. She and her 3 band mates brought a bright, albeit too short (30 min.) set, during which they charmed the crowd with mostly bouncy tracks that just make you want to hum and dance along to. Great set all around. If you have a chance to see them live, do not miss them! Meanwhile, "Herein Wild" is HIGHLY RECEOMMENDED!

I love rich harmonies that give me a chill. This gives me a chill.
My top favorite for 2013. I made a request to my favorite DJ Cheryl and found it was her favorite too.
Decent but pales in comparison to her previous album 1 Mar. 2015

It's hard not to compare this to Interstellar, not only because it is its immediate predecessor, but because they have so much in common. Even the structure of the album is eerily similar. Herein Wild certainly isn't a bad album by any stretch, but it's nowhere near as strong as Interstellar. I think if their releases could somehow have been reversed chronologically, that would have helped my perspective on this album; sadly, an obvious impossibility.
... the week - Both this and Interstellar are very nice albums. 10 Nov. 2014

I discovered Frankie on iTunes as a free song of the week - Both this and Interstellar are very nice albums.

This Album is amazing 11 Dec. 2013

This Album is amazing - a great album of interesting music. I like their sound a lot. This group crafted the perfect pop music album with an urban flare to it. Some of the melodies are fantastic and richly textured - very well produced but not overly so.

Highly recommended!
