I bought this record for one reason, the record label. Just Music has rightly built a reputation for releasing excellent chilled out electronica or smart acoustic singer songwriters. Padma falls in to the latter camp and the majority of the tracks feature guitar and voice with some background percussion whether that is gently snare drumming, electronic tinkering or even classical piano. Whatever the instrument(s), these are always low in the mix.
The first thing that one notices about Padma and what separates him from the masses are the just plain weird lyrics. `Spacefold & Ballons' seems to be about falling in love with a girl that works for NASA. The song `Pilot' describes his love for high healed trainers and other odd fashion choices. However in between this strangeness there some strong love songs and tunes that stick.
Nick Drake he ain't, but a very promising young talent and worth keeping an eye on.

I took a chance on this album after stumbling upon the artists myspace on the internet, I loved every minute of it and day by day my favourites on the album change, something for chilling out in the evening, but also so much depth to the songs to listen to when you have the time for a good old listen! Hope to see this guy go far in 08 *****
