5.0 out of 5 stars Fun, sexy and quirky romance 15 Oct 2006

Being a huge fan of Leslie Kelly I was very much looking forward to her newest book and it really didn't disappoint.

Here Comes Trouble is the story of Max Taylor - a former playboy who goes to the town of Trouble to lay low from the media frenzy caused by a tell-all book in which a whole chapter is dedicated to his erotic exploits with a congressman's widow. He plans to stop the book before it ruins him.

Sabrina Cavanaugh is a junior editor for a publishing company who is in Trouble posing as a rich investor. Determined to make the book a success, she is in town to prove that Max really is the womaniser the book makes him out to be even if that means seducing him to do it.

But when the two meet - Max has a hard time remembering why he was supposed to be staying away from women and Sabrina has a hard time remembering that she was seducing Max for business, not pleasure and losing her heart was not part of the bargain. Throw in a 5 year unsolved murder, a pregnant sister, stalker ex-boyfriend, missing money and an array of crazed, eccentric townspeople and you have the beginnings of a fun and entertaining original story.

This book really is an excellent read. Max is a delicious reformed bad boy while Sabrina is a strong, sexy woman with a sweet vulnerable streak and together the pair have great chemistry and the sex scenes really sizzle. The secondary characters are also well developed and hopefully we will see more of them in future books set in Trouble. The writing is sharp and entertaining and as is usual with Leslie Kelly - full of wit and humour.

I would highly recommend this book. It was a fun, sexy and smart comedy romance which I'm sure you will enjoy even if you've not read Leslie Kelly before. Definitely five stars.

5.0 out of 5 stars Here Comes Trouble-Joyfully Recommended Read 25 Aug 2006
By M. Nix - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Mass Market Paperback
Max Taylor is heading for Trouble. Trouble, Pennsylvania that is. Max's eccentric grandfather, Mortimer, just bought the town and Max is laying low because a scandalous book is about to be published that contains details of his sexual conquests. He intends to stop the book from being published before it ruins him. Max has been a bit of a womanizer in the past but he is reforming his ways.

Sabrina Cavanaugh works as a junior editor for Liberty Books. Sabrina is in Trouble, Pennsylvania, undercover, attempting to prove that Max is indeed a womanizer. When Sabrina first gets to Trouble, she meets a man that throws her libido into overdrive. Little does she know this man is Max. Max is shocked by the beauty standing before him, but he needs to stay away from women until this mess with the book is sorted out.

Sabrina's younger sister Allie is pregnant. Peter Prescott is the father of the baby; he is also Sabrina's ex boyfriend and the bane of both hers and Allie's existence. Along with that, someone is trying to run Mortimer out of town, trying to discover where the town's stolen money is. During it all, Sabrina and Max are falling hard for each other. They still hold secrets though. When the truth comes out, Sabrina is worried about how Max will take it, but Max has worries of his own.

Here Comes Trouble is fantastic! Max is to die for and Sabrina is a sweetheart; they are perfect for each other. Ms. Kelly's flawless wit, the side-splitting antics of the towns people, the sultry passion between Max and Sabrina and each endearing character make Here Comes Trouble an unbelievably entertaining story. This is my first Leslie Kelly book but definitely not my last! Reading Here Comes Trouble is a perfect way to spend an afternoon!

5.0 out of 5 stars Sometimes Trouble is a Good Thing 22 Aug 2006
By Patti Fischer - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Mass Market Paperback
Welcome to Trouble, a town with a strange name, but with even stranger citizens.

Max came to town to hide out from scandal and has pretty much figured out the best way to deal with everyone in Trouble is to take them in stride. After all, none of them will likely care about the tall tales that might be spread in the book. They have their own sordid pasts, including most recently a corrupt mayor who was murdered and ultimately sent the town into bankruptcy and sold to the highest bidder, which happens to be his uncle, Mortimer Potts. Max is immediately smitten with Sabrina, who has her own personal agenda, and can't figure out why she runs hot and cold on him. Then there are the mysterious goings on around town - is there something in the late Mayor's house someone is after? Sabrina has a hard time playing the role of seductress because Max is well...too charmingly nice. But her job proves even harder to do when Allie shows up in town. Can Sabrina get the goods on Max before she falls for him and amidst all of the interruptions provided by people and action in the town? How will Max react when he learns the reason Sabrina has come to Trouble?

Leslie Kelly has written another lively, delightful tale with HERE COMES TROUBLE. It had me snickering and completely enthralled by the wacky characters and doings of Trouble. I swear I will never look at Fabio again without picturing Allie, a poodle and some... um...fruit. Or the elderly Feeney sisters having a knock down fight in the middle of Trouble's Main Street over who gets to claim Mortimer. The romance between Max and Sabrina slowly builds, but the sexual chemistry finally reaches a peak high up in the sky. HERE COMES TROUBLE is filled with fun and madcap scenes that make it one book I won't soon forget. It's definitely going on my keeper shelf.

Leslie Kelly continues her Midas touch with HERE COMES TROUBLE by providing readers with another stellar story. Reading it is almost like a roller coaster ride chockfull of snazzy dialogue, laugh out loud moments, steamy sex scenes, while mixing in a bit of suspense. I guarantee it's one ride you won't want to miss.

3.0 out of 5 stars Cute romantic comedy 13 Aug 2007
By Tracy Vest - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Mass Market Paperback
Trying to hide from his notoriety in a society widow's steamy tell all book, private pilot Max Taylor has taken to his grandfather's new home in the tiny bankrupt town he recently purchased, aptly named Trouble, Pennsylvania. Max retained a lawyer who has successfully blocked publication of the lurid memoir. Of course, getting a good night's sleep in Trouble is hampered by the plethora of cuckoo clocks left behind by the murdered former Mayor (who absconded with the town coffers, bankrupting the town). Sabrina Cavanaugh is a junior editor who travels to Trouble undercover posing as a society lady in hopes of attracting Max and proving his lothario status, thus stalling the lawsuit. But Sabrina doesn't count on falling for Max, whom she unwittingly falls for before discovering his identity. Following her to Trouble is her pregnant sister, for whom she feels responsibility, since her former boyfriend impregnated Allie to get back at Sabrina for ending the relationship, and their extremely religious family has shunned them.

Kelly has created a simmering duo and a funny yet romantic comedy, where deception plays a key role. Populated with some funny secondary characters including two crazy and competitive sisters with a penchant for poison, the story also has a light mystery as to the whereabouts of the stolen town coffers (as well as the disappearance of Max's grandfather) offers additional high jinks as various townspeople are hell-bent on discovering the ill-gotten gains. It's cute but pretty average overall.
