About the Author
Andy Stanton loved books from an early age. Later he progressed to stories with no pictures but he always retained a huge affection for children’s books and would read them on trains and buses long before it was fashionable to do so. A string of part-time jobs seemed to be leading nowhere until one Christmas he sat down and wrote a story to entertain his young cousins. That story turned out to be You’re A Bad Man, Mr Gum! and it became the first book in the best-selling and rather bizarre ‘Mr Gum’ series, which has won numerous awards and been translated into over twenty languages. Andy lives in North London. Here Comes the Poo Bus! is his first picture book.

This is the story of Uncle Toad who collects the insects for a special trip on his bus of poo. The pictures are detailed disgusting revolting an d tummy churcing. Kids adore them. The sing song repetitive verse appeals to children becasue they can join in and no what's coming and the squelchy, slimy, stniky nature of the book has made almost all the kids I'v shown it to chuckle. One or two little girls have said yuk but kept on listening!
When they reach the seaside Uncle Toad turns out to be a bit of a baddie which only added to my kids squeal of delight. I thought it was horrible but amusing once. They have read it again and again and love it.
I have spent a lot of time getting my little boy not to talk about poo outside the bathroom Andy Stanton thanks SO much for putting it on his bookshelf! A book written with it's audience not the prissy parents firmly in mind!

My 7 year old son has read and loved all of the Mr Gum books as they are brilliantly funny with great imagination. However, when 'Here comes the Poo Bus' arrived I read it to my son and 5 year old daughter and we were very disappointed. The book didn't flow very well, it wasn't funny and quite frankly was just gross! Sorry Andy, stick to the Mr Gum style writing, my family love you for that.
