Learning to strengthen the nervous system by adding natural herbs to your diet is easier than one might think. Rosemary Gladstar has compiled the information and natural herb recipes for completing this task.

I believe everyone has some sort of anxiety, stress, depression, or panic attacks, and these topics are covered with a wealth of information and terrific homemade herbal recipes. The natural herbs that are included in a few of the recipes have parsley; flowers of essence include aspen, rock rose, and olive.

Ms. Gladstar also includes a list of natural herbs along with a very descriptive analysis, it uses, benefits, and preparation tips. She discusses nerve tonics and sedatives. There is also a section on ‘Which Ginseng Should I Use? When preparing your remedy from natural herbs, there is a dosage chart for reference.

In addition, under the heading ‘Massage and Body Therapies’, gives great information on relaxation for the body and mind.

Rosemary Gladstar brings much insight to the nervous system in our bodies, which often is overlooked. I highly recommend to everyone seeking a possible natural alternative to pharmaceutical drugs. Do not use these remedies before consulting with your personal physician.

I was a bit disappointed when I received this book and noticed how little it is. But don't let that fool you. It is packed with information and herbal recipes, with wonderful explanations. It really does approach the way an herbalist would--holistically (lifestyle) with a great understanding of herbs, rather than shooting the body with a bullet. Love it--and love the price for so much information.

My whole life has change since following the advice in this book, I was diagnosed with post-menopausal anxiety some months ago and was at the edge of my life, but since using natural herbs, I am much calmer, my hair has started to grow very well again, I am smiling again and am feeling on top of the world.

Stress surrounds us. Good stress, bad stress doesn't matter to the body - it's stress. Natural means of dealing with it is good.

I have a small library of books on a variety of topics, including herbs. I don't have one by this author, and expect some will look at the size of the book and dismiss it. Don't. It's small but concise - if you took notes during a class or while reading a bigger book, it'd be this book. How to make tinctures and other things is covered as well as a basic what herbs are useful for what issue (and when not to use it). Not taking it all the time was a good point.

There's a couple points I thought were a little odd for me - the lunar tea, for example, is a bit beyond my belief system although sun tea is a regular. So if it's a little different it hurts...what? Nothing!

In full disclosure I viewed a reading copy from NetGalley, but this is worth adding to the quick and grab referral pile - easy to find references because it's not a big book. Worth it, worth the money. Well done.

Excellent reference to help overcome the stress and anxiety in a person's life. It is important not to put toxins in your body that will only accumulate and have side effects. Ingesting herbs is so beneficial for your body and provides the added nutrients that the body is able to absorb.
