5.15! RA-RA-RA! B-B-C-Dance-Or-Ches-Tra!

This is a very good CD indeed. The transfers from 78rpm are good, with practically no surface noise and the music, as always with Henry Hall is excellent.
Despite the title I've stuck up there, this disc doesn't have 5.15 (a tune based on the notes B B C and named after the time that Henry Hall broadcast - BOOO!).
It DOES have his signature tunes "It's Just the Time For Dancing" and "Here's To The Next Time" plus the wonderful "It's Time To Say Goodnight"... really that should be the last waltz ANYWHERE.
There is the (gasp! horror!) banned "Radio Times" (other listings magazines are available)... novelty numbers like "Man On The Flying Trapeze" (different lyrics to the usual, I find)... and old favourites like "Teddy Bears Picnic" - still a superb record to test a system with.
This disc has only one fault, in fact.... it's an old release, hence hard to get and expensive. Not a problem as far as I'm concerned of course, since I HAVE mine. But this is a disc to search out and I definitely recommend it.
