We all know the story of Henny Penny, the silly chicken who thinks the sky is falling in. Well, that is not the true story. No, that is a misrepresentation put about by foxes. This is the true story, and proves what we always knew in our hearts - chickens are heroes!

We had this book from the library, and had to buy it.We have chickens ourselves so anything 'chickeny' gets priority. Love the story, beautiful illustrations. Get to know Henny Penny, Ducky lucky, goosey loosey, turkey lurkey and friends. My 4yr old twins love it.

5.0 out of 5 stars The story really takes a new twist 23 Sep 2006
By Midwest Book Review - Published on
Vivian French's HENNY PENNY receives gorgeous embellishment by Sophie Windham as it tells of a concerned citizen who becomes convinced the sky is falling when an acorn lands on her head. She meets and convinces a variety of characters - but the story really takes a new twist when she encounters Foxy Loxy.

5.0 out of 5 stars The Fox and the Fowl 28 Feb 2011
By M. Heiss - Published on
This is my favorite Henny Penny. Not only are the illustrations dynamite, but the rhythm of the story is just right. Happy ending as the birds outfox the fox and make it back home for cornbread. Really, you must get this one.

This is such a fun children's book. I bought it for my 2-year old granddaughter because her mother liked the book as a child. It is fun for the reader and the listener.

My 3 year old daughter loves this version of Henny Penny. This books helps your child make predictions about Henny Penny's decision making skills. The illustrations are beautiful, and the repetition will help your child pick up the rhymes.
