Review on a children's educational CD designed for 3-8 year olds who are mad about trains and other forms of transport. This was an easy-to-use CD as mouse control was simple, i.e. not too much dragging and dropping, making it quite a suitable starter CD for my 3 year old boy. A nice feature was that if he needed to wait for me to see something or assist, each game had picture buttons on the bottom of the screen that caused all kinds of vehicles and trains move across the screen with suitable sound for a bit of light relief. His favourite game was the adventure game where you help the train deal with an obstacle, e.g. select a bridge for a river. He also loved the hidden features, e.g. whilst counting the passengers if you clicked on certain passengers or objects - they became animated. Animal lovers will enjoy matching animal sounds to animals as the train drives by and arty kids will enjoy the free colouring/drawing with or without picture templates. For the academics they have verbal/picture matching which can be done in a second language (choice of eight). Some features are age driven all which help to produce a fun CD and not one you would see in the shops!
