I didn't really like this guide very much.
The maps it contains are a completly mess, you never know where to look for the places it recommends, mainly beacause the places of interest are not marked on the maps, only bars and restaurants.
However, the information it provides is good enough for a few days in Helsinki. Good information also about nearby places to visit.
Didn't really try any of the accommodation or restaurants it recommends, so I cannot tell if they are good.
The size is fine to put it on a pocket!

Sometimes knowing the locals doesn't always give you insight to a city's history and culture. Often people don't "tour" their own homeland. Our trip to Finland was to visit friends, attend a wedding, and for my husband to work. This guide ended up being a great companion to finding answers that some locals didn't know because they hadn't explored it. For instance, the Rock Church. Quite a few of our friends had vaguely heard about this most visited site in Helsinki. Other locals were shocked that they hadn't at least visited it, but the guide filled us on the history.
OK - but LP Encounter series is better

This is the only pocket city guide on Helsinki that I could find - and it's pretty good at providing little maps of key areas, as well as major things to do. But the Lonely Planet Encounter series is generally better, with more information and better maps.
