One of the things I love about the insight guides is that they come with an added bonus. Yes they have the photos and information that other guides have, what sets insight guides apart, is you get a free included detail map, not just a map printed on a page, a real map that you can buy at a store and it comes out of the book and folds out into a real street by street map. Also, insight guides are written on a lot of cities that are hard to find in other guides. The Helsinki one was one example. Everyone has a guidebook on Finland, but few have one just on Helsinki, which happens to be the capitol city of Finland. These guides have lots of photos, advice and the good thing is, they don't drag on with hundreds of pages of research, rather they get to the point and move on to something else. I believe you will enjoy these guides. I own almost every travel guide made so I am a good judge of travel guides and I love these. I gave it 4 stars because I left that to the DK eyewitness series as so far no one can touch them. Sadly they don't have a helsinki guide, at least none I have been able to find.
