I have not yet finished reading this book. I am just not sure if I will ever be desperate enough to continue with this writer's outdated polarity of good verus bad, the continued emphasis on [the author's view of] correct parenting (there is only one way, apparently), and on the outdated research discussed... etc, etc, etc. Some of the author's suggestions are valid, but the bla bla that accompanies these ideas are frustrating -- if parents fail to create the correct child, an academic/social wonder robot, who is "brilliant" (this word repeats itself A LOT) in every way, the child will fail at school, and therefore at life, and as a person. I understand the need to sell your idea, but this attitude is destructive and angers me to a point where the good ideas, and there are some, are drowned. Horrible book.
