Book Description

1 Aug 2012
My eldest daughter, Anna, was unexpectedly diagnosed with scoliosis in May 2010, aged 14 years. I wrote this book to help other parents with children who have been given a scoliosis diagnosis, understand what could happen to them in terms of tests, surgical intervention and subsequent recovery. The book charts Anna's progress from the shock of diagnosis to the follow-up appointment with our consultant one year after surgery in May 2012.

...in this case, as the book title suggests, `the parent's journey'.

For a book of this size, it has lots of carefully researched background info regarding this condition. More importantly, this is a well documented personal experience told from the mother's perspective. It is mindfully written without being over-sentimental. It is positive and uplifting. A very informative read about the emotional rollercoaster as gone through by the daugther (and the parents!).

I really liked this book - it gave plenty of hope and useful information to help sufferers and their carers, told the truth and very helpful to know what actually happens and the way the condition can be managed.

I'd give it more than 5 stars.

Delivery and service also excellent.
