This is THE book for all those of you who get extremely frustrated by stupid little problems and errors surrounding Microsoft's current operating system. I have searched long and hard for the answers to several problems I have encountered while using Windows 98, and after spending a fortune on books, manuals, and help CD-ROMS, have found the one stop information "Bible". The only draw back is that it does not come with a software version of the book on CD-ROM, like it's sister book: "Microsoft Office 2000 Help Desk". BUY IT!

This is a good book and covers most common known issues. Worth every penny. Does lack in some of the more difficult issues of windows 98 but that is expected as it cannot cover anything. But for the depth it gives it makes solving issues a lot faster than going to the ever unreliable microsoft web site. And cheaper than buying technet

This book is great when you get into trouble - it is really what it says a "help desk". When the usual instruction manuals fail you, this is the book to turn to. It will tell you where you have gone wrong or what hiccup has occurred so that you can rectify it.
I have used it again and again for both myself and for my friends.

Every manual I have ever owned has a troubleshooting guide. They have a list of problems...Why do they never list the one I have. Help desk does, and it has solved several real problems for me. There are a few odd solutions which seem pretty obvious, but in the main, there are some real working solutions. Highly recommended

Rave reviews led me to purchase and guess what, not too impressed.
If you have lots of problems with Windows then it is probably ok, but waste of money for those who only have infrequent problems.
The book has not helped me at all. Still, I will keep it on the bookshelf just in case

The usual Microsoft official publication - big, bulky, wide margins and wide-spaced text, with tit-bits of info in amongst the verbiage. The problems it deals with are very specific, and 2 years after buying it I've never used it. Do not waste your money.
