More About the Author

Dimetrios C. Manolatos is a novelist and short fiction writer. His writings include his debut novel Sparta and the novella 47 Ronin.

Prior to writing, he was involved in independent filmmaking and screenwriting, which continues to be one of his passions. He has also worked on projects for Universal Pictures and HBO. The latter led to a brief and unexpected stint in front of the camera for a scene on the award-winning television series, The Wire. His screenplays are the basis of many of his stories.

When Manolatos is not writing, he obsessively experiments with different workout regimes, runs his dog who knows only one maddening pace and cheers for his favorite soccer teams.

Great read for 99¢. Really wish it could have been longer. Needless to say I will be looking for more from the author.

4.0 out of 5 stars Fast-Paced short story 24 Aug. 2013

I must admit that I was a bit skeptical that a story could be well-written in so few pages. I was wrong. This author has a punchy way of describing adventure. I was drawn into the story immediately. The descriptions of events are great. I have also read War Dog by this author, which is even more impressive. You will not be disappointed.
