Milton Jones, the English comedian, winner of the Perrier comedy award for best newcomer in 1996, has his own very unique style of humour based mostly on one-liners involving puns. Unlike other notable stars of this genre such as Stewart Francis and Tim Vine, he tends to weave his one-liners into the framework of an overall topic or situation.
With mad scientist hair, staring eyes, quizzical facial expression and penchant for ridiculous jumpers, he looks every part the comic on stage where his repertoire of madcap, surreal one-liners and it has drawn him a large, enthusiastic fan base. He engages with his audiences albeit to gently tease them, unlike many other stand-ups who just deliver their routines from the stage into the 'void' above and around the audience.
"Hello", is made up of 19 seam-free segments giving over 50 minutes of very amusing, innovative, 'chuckle generating' humour that is a joy to listen to, and which stands the test of repeated plays. Usually once I have heard a comedy album once, I rarely revisit it; not so with "Hello" which I have replayed three or four times.....so far.
