Caitlyn is a pretty 24 year old, left independently wealthy following the death of her parents over a decade ago. Donating the majority of her inheritance to charity she retains enough to set up her own hair salon. After meeting up with her friend Stacey Gwen and other former sorority buddies for copious quantities of tequila, Caitlyn never expects her evening to become a life changing event. When their limousine is involved in an accident, most of the girls exit with minor injuries, Caitlyn however dies 3 times during her transportation to a top secret lab. Young, fit and healthy, and better yet with no immediate family alive, Caitlyn appears the perfect specimen for the OSF (a secret government agency) to experiment upon. 2 months later Caitlyn returns home, stronger, fitter and faster than humanly possible, thanks to the nanobytes that saved her life. Meet the world's first and only fully cybernetic organism, held back only by the limitations of her own mind, aka Caitlyn "Jimmy" James, a bionic woman who can now do anything.

Caitlyn never asked for a secret agency to spend millions of dollars saving her life and certainly has no desire to work for "The Boss" out of some misplaced gratitude. She loves her salon and fully intends to keep running it; cutting and colouring hair keeps her far too busy to track down the governments most wanted. Reluctantly agreeing to perform 1 assignment only, Caitlyn is transported to a computer hacker's home and ordered to neutralise him. Feeling sorry for the nerdy kid with an almost unhealthy interest in porn, she tries a different method of persuasion, leaving a smile on the kids face and the promise to never again release his computer viruses. As far as Caitlyn is concerned it's a job well done, the Boss however has a different opinion.

When the lab team responsible for OSF's nanobyte technology start being murdered, the reluctant agent is informed that she isn't exactly unique. A former agent of OSF, a gifted linguist named Dmitri Novokov was also infected by nanobytes. Unfortunately he has now gone rogue and is blamed for the deaths of the scientists. Caitlyn agrees to find him, yet the tables are turned when the former very talented and extremely handsome Dmitri hunts her, thinking Caitlyn responsible for these murders.

MJD has again created a wonderfully ditzy heroine. Caitlyn is a 21st century bionic woman, complete with a Terminator-like computer screen beaming data directly into her brain, mood signifying hair highlights, a large strawberry daiquiri and the desire to make every woman's day a "good hair day". Nicknamed "Mirage" by the OSF team (for her strange ability to never appear for an assignment); Caitlyn wants to party hard and finds that saving the world intrudes into her social life. When the Boss then announces that he is dating her best friend Stacey Gwen, things surely can't get any worse?? Fans of MJD's Undead series will certainly enjoy this book. Yes this is standard formula from MJD, it's another great story of a wacky heroine with a smart mouth who is seriously out of her depth - but when it works so well why change it?

another let down from mayjanice, this story was only 210 pages long as have a lot of her books recently. and to make matters worse the powers that be have decided to hide that fact from you by adding in a short story to make it look longer. average story bout a girl who dies and is brought back as the bionic woman. add in some of the sass of betsy and fred and you have caitlyn, and for a love interest we have dmitri a lithuanian duke!!! cos you just find them all the time in Paris, Texas!!!!

AFTER A DRUNKEN NIGHT OUT WITH HER FRIENDS OUR HEROINE WAKES UP TO FIND SHE IS THE NEW 'BIONIC' WOMAN AND SHE BELONGS TO THE GOVERNMENT DEPARTMENT THAT HAS REMADE HER ..'NOT..! SHE IS CHEEKY, SASSY AND BELONGS TO NO-ONE. SHE IN VERY SHORT TERMS TELLS HER NEW DEADLY SECRET AGENT 'BOSS' (WHO IS CALLED BOSS BY THE WAY) WHERE TO SHOVE HIS JOB. I LOVED HER, SHE IS SO INNOCENT BUT IS FEARLESS, HOW SHE DOESN'T GET SHOT BY HER OWN GOVERNMENT GOD ALONE KNOWS. LOVED IT, BRILL. THE LOVE INTEREST, ANOTHER CYBORG BUT A VERY HOT MALE, SHOWS MORE VUNERABILITY ABOUT HIS SITUATION THAN SHE DOES, PERHAPS BECAUSE IT IS NEW TO HER AND HER BEST FRIEND KNOWS ABOUT HER IMPROVEMENTS AND ACCEPTS THEM SO EASILY WHERE AS HE FEELS THAT HE FRIGHTENS EVERYONE HE COMES IN CONTACT WITH. THE FACT THAT HER FRIEND ENDS UP IN A LOVE AFFAIR WITH HER NEW CREEPY NON-BOSS REALLY HAS HER FLIPPING OUT. IT IS FUNNY, BUT A FUNNY LOVE STORY NON THE LESS. IT IS A LIGHTHEARTED, FUNNY AND SEXY READ.
