Right kiddys ,if like me you absolutely loved mezcos first foray into the hellboy franchise then you will be satisfied with these new figures.
However,depending on which version (or variant-nerd speak) you get you may be pleaseder (yes it is a word-i just made it up!)
Overall,the standard Hellboy is the same as the coat wearing fella from the first wave of the first film without ivan the russian corpse .He does get a samaritan pistol and a "big baby" shotgun,a huge cumbersome six barrelled blunderbuss of a weapon that opens at the breach so hellboy can pretend to load it.
The paintwork isnt as good as the first lot and feels "rushed" to accomadate the famous toy store market and mass marketing from the new studio.
The variants are as far as i can tell are as follows.
1-angry black shirt and shotgun
2-closed mouth with cigar and black shirt
3-angry with bare chest and sword instead of shotgun.
the "angry" faced version is ok but makes his face look a little cartoony and swollen as if he'd been stung by a wasp and had a reaction.
his tongue is pink.
The calm cigar smoking dude is the killer though,spot on likeness and just looks cooler and less kid friendly (theyre selling him as "red" in bible belt america so as not to mention the "H" word!!!)
Get the calm face version if you can it may be similar to the first version but that aint a bad thing right?
if ou can't ,still get the other version cos its still cool...thankyou and goodnight !!!

Wow! This action figure is stunning! It captures Red just about perfectly-especially when he's uh-agittated-yeah, that'll work. That snarl gives me the shudders! The sculpt is perfect as is the paint. There are plenty of movie accurate accessories-big baby ect. If you love Hellboy, you HAVE to get this! There ain't nothing else to say!

Bad News: River Road sent me the wrong toy and did not respond to my complaint. I didn't even ask for my money back, I just wanted the item I purchased (Hellboy with big baby shotgun) instead of what I got (Hellboy with sword). I was willing to pay to send it back to them and re-pay the shipping and handling but I never got the chance to do that. It was very frustrating.
Good News: Amazon's A to Z guarantee gave me a refund which I am very grateful for. However, I still don't have the toy I purchased. I think I'm buying online from toy's r us this time. So all in all I got a refund but still no toy. Oh well.

After purchasing the series two set from Toynk I ventured out into the unknown and decided I wanted some of the earlier series one figures, I already had the Prince dude so that was all good. just needed some of the more popular Hellboy figures. This one fits right in with the others I have of him. I would recommend this one to anyone if they can get it. Entertainment earth had both of the variant figures, this one and the one with the Sword so I got both of them. I don't know where you'd get them from now, besides off here.
Hopefully this figure was to your liking as it was mine and hopefully it will become readily available for purchase for anyone who wants it. Good luck.
