Product Description

Product Description

Clive Barker's iconic masterpiece The Hellbound Heart, the novella adapted into the film Hellraiser, unleashed a new mythology of horror, brilliantly conceived and born of the darkest imagination. Now, enter this visionary world -- the merciless realm of the demonic Cenobites -- in this collection of stories inspired by The Hellbound Heart. Featured here is the graphic work "Wordsworth," from bestselling author Neil Gaiman and artist Dave McKean, who unlock an explicit way to violate innocence -- one torturous puzzle at a time.... New York Times bestselling author Kelley Armstrong logs on to a disturbing website for gamers, where the challenge is agonizing, and the solution beyond painful. When his father disappears, an Oxford student returns to his family's mansion, where a strange mechanism in the cellar holds a curious power, in a haunting illustrated work by Christopher Golden and Mike Mignola.

Hellbent High 14 Jan 2012
Format:Paperback
This is a pretty good selection of original short stories based on the Hellraiser mythos (primarily using the film/s as a touchstone) - not really a dud in the whole bunch. I found it a very entertaining read, with some nice slants on the theme of Hell - and all its variations of pain and pleasure.

If you are a fan of Clive Barker, and Hellraiser - although be aware that the majority of the cenobites in this collection are new creations ('pinhead' does not even feature once)- then this book is recommended to you.

Format:Paperback
Not much disapointment from authors like Neil Gaiman or Dave McKean (albeit not creating anything more unique than their "Sandman" collaboration), guest text from Barbie Wilde, inputs by Doug Bradley and Clive Barker... yet many of stories included were rather average, even despite different attempts on portraying classic "Cenobites and Lemarchand box" theme and it's variations. Recommended mostly for die-hard Barker fans.

Good Unclean Fun 28 Sep 2009
Format:Paperback
A cool and very spooky book. Lots of good writing. Look out for the teeth-chattering Sister Cilice by Barbie Wilde! Not to read if you're on your own after midnight!
