New Jersey's supreme overlords of modern death metal Fit For An Autopsy astound and amaze with their second album full of distilled hatred. There's plenty going on here with this criminally underrated act, from the bruising breakdowns and bitter riffs, to the gargling vocals and intense lyrics. This falls on the more metal side of the deathcore genre, owing a lot to death metal acts of yore, but the production is huge, evocative, and atmospheric, lending an almost black metal-like feel the compositions. There's a fair amount of scope to the songs, with variations in pace and sentiment, and at times it recalls the genre's frontrunners, only FFAA come across like Whitechapel at a funeral, rather than a pale imitation. As a whole, this is pretty memorable, and certainly worth a number of listens before you form an opinion. It's smart, violent, and uncompromising. Get it and watch the world spin into blackness.

Easily the heaviest album of 2013 15 Dec. 2013
By Brandon Price - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Audio CD
Wow. This album encompasses everything I love about this genre. I heard this band for the first Liquid Metal on Sirius XM. Do not drive while listening to this album as it will surely take road rage to a whole new level. This is brutal beatdown death metal / core at it finest. First off, Nate Johnson has been one of my favorite vocalist since is debut on TTEOTD "Malice" and I have to say he has gotten even better. His guttural growls come straight from the depths of hell. The drumming is a superb, The blastbeats are there but not overly done, groovy beats that just make you want to headbang, those double bass breaks. Breakdowns are there but don't feel forced, bass drops add the extra layer of pure brutality. Lyrics are straight from a horror film, with memorable lines throughout. Guitar is technical, shredding solos and no songs feel like a chugfest like so many other bands in this genre. This CD has quickly become one of my favorites. Can't wait to lift some heavy a** weights to this. Support these guys, see them live, buy this CD or I'll bury you in the back of the forest \m/

I hadn't really sat down and listened to this band until this album came out. I was impressed with how the overall sound is for this album. Nate Johnson puts out a stellar performance on vocals and I feel that they help make this album what it is. Definitely a good album to check out.
