Born in Singapore Helen Morris spent her childhood in various countries. She went to a proper English boarding school where she developed an inventive approach to art, drama and rule bending. She had decided that when she grew up she would either be a world famous movie star or a world famous fashion designer but that was because she had never owned a stencil set as a child. If she had I am sure that it would not have taken twenty eight years before Helen realised that she was going to be a stenciler.
Helen Morris is now one of Britain's best known stencil experts. She and her husband Michael Chippendale founded the Stencil Library in 1988 and have been designing and cutting stencils for a worldwide market ever since. Helen taught herself to stencil and has since shared her innovative techniques with countless people through workshops, publications and television in Europe, Australia and America. She has had two books published and has contributed to many others. Helen and Michael live in a stencilled home in Northumberland.
She still dabbles with fashion and drama.
