Jenifer Fairpo is a former librarian of the School of Dentistry at the University of Leeds, where her husband is a Senior Lecturer and Honorary Consultant in Paediatric Dentistry. Both authors were involved in the very first edition of the dictionary, which first published in 1962 and has since undergone translation into several other languages.

Unfortunately ,this book has proved to be of very limited value. Whilst studying for a very straightforward dental postgraduate diploma I have referred to it frequently but with increasing frustration, as it only ever has explanations for terms I already know, and anything slightly difficult, or pertaining to developments within the last five or six years are absent. Perhaps it may be of use to a lay person, bit if any dental undergraduate finds this book useful they'll struggle with their finals.
I have just recentley passed my dental nursing exam Nov 2003 and found this book very helpfull as a reference book. I found it very usefull in understanding tecnical dental terms. It was basicaly a valuble asset when revising.
