If you're studing French Revolution for AS level then you can't go wrong with this book. It's easy to use, clearly set out and organised chronologically to make study simple.
Not only that but it isn't one of these history books that make you die on the inside when you're reading it :) Really interesting.
Tends to focus more on the facts than intrepretatios but definitely worth a look :)

Fantastic balance of overview and interesting detail. What this text also has, and Rees's France in Revolution, does not is seperate assessment of themes, along with historians analysis of these themes.

All in all an interesting and easy to grasp text for A level and basic degree overview.

I rate this purchase four stars because, even though it's a used book, it is, in my opinion, in prime condition. There are hardly any traces of it being used, apart from the edges being a bit wrinkled, which is perfectly acceptable. Overall, I think it is a great buy if considering saving money by buying a used copy of a textbook, instead of a new on, especially if you're a student and only in need of it for one academic year. It arrived sooner than expected, as well.
