5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent 11 Nov 2006
I bought Series 1 and 2, I watched this as a young child but didnt' catch all the episodes as it was on BBC most of all I remembered how much I enjoyed the episodes I did get to watch.

I recieved both these dvd's I had no idea that this series was sooo long there is well over 8 hours of Heidi buying series 1 and 2 which you need to complete the story..

It is even better than I remembered so wonderful to beable to now share it with my own children it is split into episodes so it doesnt' have to be a marathon viewing but my son has been sick this last few days so it has been perfect for us to snuggle.

The quality is excellent considering I am not at all dissapointed and great price too with the Amazon instock price.

4.0 out of 5 stars Heidi dvd 1978 1 Oct 2010

Nine hours of viewing - a really wonderful production. Although Doefli is in Eastern Switzerland the film has been set, for this production, in Grndelwald and the scenery takes me back fondly to the Oberland. The dubbing into English has been well done and is not a source of irritation.
Altogether a great film that can be enjoyed time and again

Like the first Original Heidi Part One I have spent many hours watching this DVD over and over again.

How the Grandfather warmed to Hedi is not surprising. What a lovely little girl who played the part.

I would recommend this DVD to everyone

Brilliant

5.0 out of 5 stars Love it, always have, always will. 8 Jan 2012

This is an old favourite of mines. I use to watch Heidi on TV when I was very young I'm in my 40's today, and I still love it. I bought volume 1 a while ago, and I'm watching it now. I have only just ordered this volume 2 and I cannot wait for it to arrive. Such good acting, from all concerned dubbed or not, this doesn't disturb my enjoyment. I wish they would show programs like this on TV today, including programs like Worzel Gummidge that was shown around the same time as Heidi. Aaarghh the good olde days. Thank heavens volume 2 was still avilable, now I will have the complete set. Nothing beats the olde classics. Thanks Amazon.

5.0 out of 5 stars Beautiful story 7 Oct 2011

I read Heidi when I was a girl and it was a pleasure to have found it in DVD. We found the part 1 in video, so when we found this in DVD it was much better. It is a very touching and beautiful story about a little girl who lost her parents and have to live with her grandad in the Swiss Alps. Worthwhile watching. It is a very long DVD but you can watch it in parts.

5.0 out of 5 stars 'Back to Basics' entertainment 26 July 2011
Forget special effects and digital animation, this is the stuff my generation grew up with (I'm fast approaching 40!). Despite the lack of 'flashy stuff' my children enjoyed the simplicity of Heidi.

Bought both volumes of this for girls aged 9 and 6, so they could enjoy a taste of delightful 80's children's TV. The picture quality's not great and they found the dubbing funny and a bit distracting at first, but they were ultimately enchanted by the story, keen to know what happened next and relieved at the happy ending. I bought the book to go along with it, so they could have part of the story read to them at bedtime, before seeing it on screen the following afternoon. This made it easier to ration the dvds as their tendency is to overdose on episodes if allowed.
