Fabulous 13 Dec 2011
Format:Paperback
Am on the last chapter of this book and can say that if you are looking for a no nonsense, completely simple, plain English example or what it is to live Spiritually, then this book is for you.
I am the sort of person that has always known that there is something deeper going on with life than we are taught maybe by our parents and certainly at school. I have read up upon a huge expanse of religions and various lifestyles as was aware that I seemed to be in a box that didn't quite fit. In my search to find out about the bigger picture, I have often come up against people who laugh at me and take the mickey for being what they have labelled 'quirky'. It amazes me how in Western society the merest hint of anything esoteric gets people's backs up.
After dropping into my local Waterstones and going to the Mind, Body and Spirit section, this book was on display as that week's recommended read. I read the first page in the shop and bought it straight away.
What an enormous relief that Alice Grist has put down on paper what I imagine a lot of people are thinking. Truly, there is no preaching (don't you hate it when people try and shove their beliefs and ethics onto you), no 'you should do this or that', no 'that's not right' and 'you can't think like that'.
All Alice has done is simply give you her story with how she discovered her own Spirituality. Her attitude feels absolutely correct to me as although this is described as a 'guide', Alice constantly encourages you to find your own way of doing things and advises you to discover things in your own time. Love it, have ordered Alice's other book from Amazon, and will start reading as soon as I finish this. Has changed my life. x

The High Heeled Guide to Spiritual Living is the follow on from High Heeled Guide to Enlightenment by Alice Grist.

Alice has written a frank and honest account in very simple terms for all to understand, this is a definitive Guide to a more Spiritual life. It is clear that Alice has a lot of experience on this subject and is extremely honest and often very amusing in her interpretation of this subject. " The High Heeled Guide to Spiritual Living demonstrates how in a world overrun by rampant egos, consumerism and celebrity you can revamp your life your soul with feisty feminine panache"

This really is an easy read whether you are new to the Spiritual Living or just looking for a fresh view or to help you back on track. I loved the way at the start that Alice list of the don't /nots and clears all the misconceptions we all have!

Split into different chapters about many aspects of everyday life and what is happening around you and touching on subjects we often find difficult to address. This book makes you reflect on your past and think of you future and I think will definitely help me move on with the next stage of my life. I will continue to re-do the tasks and exercises and really think these will help me grow into a more spiritual person.

A book you can pick up and put down and just read when you have a little bit of free time. It's so personal, it is like having Alice over for a cuppa and discussing things with you and encouraging you that you can do it if you try! A must for any Coffee table.

Thanks so much for a copy of this Alice. I won't be passing my copy on but will certainly be purchasing a few copies for close friends as gifts.

After reading the first book (The High Heeled Guide to Enlightenment) I was keen to immerse myself in Alice's witty and sparkly world all over again. The idea that a thoroughly modern girl (or boy) can toy with tarot or attune to animals and maintain her "fabulousness" was very appealing. In a society that belittles such beliefs, it is nice to have a soul sister there to guide you through the beautiful journey of spirituality.
On this note, the author, Alice has created a supportive, loving online community for all soul-seekers to share stories, ideas and thoughts. This can be found at soul-cafe dot net.

This book is a wonderful companion to anybody that is open to embracing love and spirituality. If you haven't already read the first book, I would heartily suggest reading that to whet your appetite and then read this one to assist you in your new spiritual path.

LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this book!
