The Hednoise BT-69 Adapter is a brilliant idea! Doing away with the need for a power unit (as it is powered via the dock itself) and with no dangling cables to look untidy the little BT-69 gives your old iPod dock a new lease of life. If your dock doesn't have an Aux-in jack socket - no problem - the BT-69 only uses the Apple connector for all its needs! It is very simple to get working - just plug it into the dock where the iPod would usually go and the blue LED starts flashing to show the adapter is in "pairing mode", switch on the Bluetooth function on your playing device and find IBT-69 then you should be able to connect easily - the blue LED stays on when pairing is complete. Then enjoy your music through your old dock! I was so pleased with this product that I bought a second one for another old dock. The only minor niggle is that the blue LED is very bright - I use one of these in a sound-bar which sits in front of the TV, the sound bar is always on, or in standby, so the blue LED on the adapter is always visible - and very distracting! I had to stick a small piece of tape over it in the end as it was driving me mad!! However, this is one of the best gadgets I've seen in a long time so an easy five stars and highly recommended.

A handy little device. I plugged it into the iPad speaker port at home, and managed to stream music from my android phone to it within minutes. Great sound quality and in fact better than the Bluetooth link that is integrated into the dock. When streaming music to those speakers I now use the dock adapter even for streaming from the iPad because the sound quality is superior

Bought for a Klipsch iGroove dock which has been gathering dust since I switched to a iphone 5s with lightning connector. Took about 30 seconds to get it going. Just popped it into the dock and switch the dock on. Looked on my iphone Bluetooth settings and paired it immediately. Selected some music and hit play. Nearly failed as the dock volume was on minimum but checked iphone volume and dock volume and suddenly music was booming out.

I love my Klipsch dock and this adapter has made me so happy that I can dust it off and use it again to listen to music on my iphone and ipad or any other Bluetooth device. Fantastic!

What I've always found annoying about iPod/iPhone docks is the inconvenience of having to drag myself off the sofa to change the tracks! This handy little device solves all those problems and allows you to turn any aging dock into a bluetooth enabled one.

It's worth nothing that I had considered swapping my existing unit for one with bluetooth built in but i've always been happy with the sound quality and it still functions brillianty so i felt an upgrade somewhat unnecessary. Therefore I was glad to be offered this for review meaning I could keep my existing setup but gain that wireless freedom I was after.

I'm glad to report the Hednoise makes a tidy job of such a task! The device itself its quite small and sits unobtrusivly in the dock via the 30 pin connector - which means docks designed for the lightning connector will not be compatible. However this fortunately means that devices with the lightning connector can be paired to a 30 pin dock via bluetooth again removing the need for an expensive upgrade.

Once you've docked your the Hednoise, simply turn on bluetooth on your device and press the button on the adapter. This sends it in 'pairing mode' which allows it to be discovered by your phone/iPod etc. If a passcode is asked for I found 0000 did the trick.

Once you're paired its pretty straightforward from here, any sound emitted from your device will be automatically sent via bluetooth to the adapter and through your speakers, bliss! And best of all no need to get up to select the music, perfect wireless freedom and the sound quality seems no worse than a direct connection. I'm pleased to say battery life seems to not be affected too greatly either which was one of my other concerns.

Last year we upgraded my daughter's phone to an iPhone 5. Great. Except the iPhone 5 comes with the new, smaller "lightning" connector, and her rather expensive speaker/dock was the old 30-pin connector.

This little gizmo is the perfect answer. It is tiny, so easily fits into the cradle where the phone used to sit, and connects onto the 30-pin connector.

Set-up is virtually non-existent. There is no on/off button, and no battery. The unit takes its power from the dock. When you plug it in, a blue LED flashes to show it is awaiting pairing. Just turn on Bluetooth on the phone and it will show the HEDNOISE as an available device. Pair it, and you are done. Music flows out from the speaker immediately.

The range is pretty good too. My daughter left her bedroom, went downstairs and into the kitchen and it was still playing away quite happily, with no glitching.

The only possible downside I can see to this device is that (once paired) the bright blue LED stops flashing and remains on. If this was right in your eye-line, you might find it a little bright and annoying.

However, the up-sides are many:
- simplicity to set up
- no batteries to buy
- excellent range for reception
- enables you to connect a new iPhone (or indeed any other brand of smartphone) to an old 30-pin iPhone dock
- gives you a wireless capability if your old dock did not have it
- frees you to keep the phone with you whilst the music still plays

And at a price that is cheaper than Apple charge for the 30-pin to Lightening converter, this has got to be a better option. A winner.

Now I am off to look for someone who is selling off an old 30-pin B&W Zeppelin on the cheap, as I reckon this gizmo gives me access to a bargain dock for my Samsung Galaxy...!
