The Disco Kandi series is probably one of the best house series ever. There are quite a few really funky tracks on this cd, but there are also some quite dull tracks as well. Personally I enjoyed CD 1 the most, and especially Hi Fi Mike - Stereo Flava, Dubtribe System - Auto soul (of course...!), Community presents Fonda Rae - Over like a fat rat and my favourite: Tom de Neef - From Antwerp with love. Mainstream Funky House that really get the party started.
CD 2 is cool as well, but not as many crowdpleasers here as in cd 1. Junior Jack - E samba, though, is maybe the finest house track in quite some time. Stonebridge with Put 'em high is also a great track. Cd 1 more of a party starter, Cd 2 when the party is at its peak level...
Although not as great as earlier Kandi cd's (Disco Kandi 4 is my favourite), this is a must for all Funky House lovers...

What a fantastic album!! You must buy this, especially if you like sexy vocal funky house!! I'm still listening to it as much now as when i first bought it nearly 3 months ago!! If you don't own this, buy it, and if you do then try the disco heaven series as well!

Mark Doyle's label does it again. A real grower this one, but you've got to stick with listening through the the whole of the cd's and not put your favourites on repeat. I've only given it 4 stars because there are more fillers than, say world series - the last edition. The highlights are Saturated Soul's Got to release, which features Eddie Amador's touch and you just know it's going to be good. Also Chlorophilia Put a little love, the great Armand van Helden's My my my, and Funkstar Deluxe's When I think of you. There are other great track's like Feels so good which features the Jungle Brothers and Love the way you move by I-Jah stands out. It's after you get past the remixes of 'classic tracks' like Last night a dj saved my life and Basement Jaxx' Good luck that it starts to feel a bit padded.
Still head and shoulders above the 'Deechay Semmy' style of 'dance music' but Hed Kandi's cutting edge feels a little blunt and needs to sharpen up again. Try Shapeshifter's House Grooves for a slight change, but stick with this one, it's worth it.

First and foremost, I would like to say that I am a religious purchaser of Kandi Releases and I don't doubt the amount of effort gone into their albums but the quality on this one isn't great.
Some of the tracks on disc one stink of cheese. For instance, Funkstar Deluxe & Laurent Wolf, and then there are some crackers from Saturated Soul, The Brand New Heavies & I-jah. The theme of the first disc is very latin and summery but the tunes in general aren't of the high standard that you would expect.
Disc two is definitely more Twisted Disco than Disco Kandi. But it's still better than disc one. Standout tunes come from King Britt, Soul Central, Armand van Helden & Haji and Emanuel.
Don't dismiss this Kandi release. It's still worth a look but it's not as good as I expected. Three stars.

I was suspicious of this release after reading the other reviews. I have high expectations of the Disco Kandi releases especially and I've just listened to it and this Kandi cd is FANTASTIC.
Perhaps it is because I pine for the early releases which warm the cockles, and this cd reeks of the earlier Kandi compilations, but I ADORE this.
Best parts are:
ALL OF IT (Brand new heavies/ Stonebridge/ Seamus Haji/ Mousse T remix)
This is what disco house is, and what Kandi do so well. House music has had poor press of late, and to be honest there hasn't been that much good quality disco house, but my feeling is that this release is the beginning of a new rise in quality disco house.

My 4th album of the series and this on what I found out to be a rare album to get apparently its been deleted off the Hed Kandi roster so if you see it and are collecting the series like me GRAB IT.

Anyways after absolutly loving the Hed Kandi (2006) Enhanced album to pieces and getting into the groove on Disco Kandi 5 & Disco Kandi 05.03. I was looking forward to yet another great CD that is Disco Kandi 05.04 and again Mark Doyle does it with some fantastic summer anthems and up coming winter chills for that year to the likes of classic artists such as Armand Van Helden to Basement Jaxx keep the album at the right spot. I must admit it's definatly a mix betweet Disco Heaven & Twisted Disco's compliation varing from 2 so 1 has to ask should it be classed a Disco Kandi album and I say it's very good it brings funky tracks then will slow it down for a bit to some basey disco then back up when you don't expect it.

I do give it 4 stars thou because of this my other albums seem a lot more funky house really high energy tracks where as this does do the same but it just sometimes dosn't hit the spot like say Disco Kandi 2006 but a great album thou.

I have to say that this is one of the best Disco Kandi albums I've heard in a very long time. Not only is the choice of tracks solid and true to the genré but it's embracing the ever changing sound of House music. I defy anyone who likes House music to not like this album. Dare I say that the change at Kandi-Towers has been for the better? Here's a couple of CDs that seem to capture the new feeling in the Kandi camp, a little more of what the people who go to the parties want. Whether you play it before you go out on a Friday night or when you get home on a Sunday morning, this album has everything for you. CD 1 is perfectly balanced with great soulful, vocal and latin melodies that you just can't get out of your head and includes the massive Ian Carey remix of Soulsearcher's 'Feelin' Love'. CD 2 on the other hand is much more up for it with huge tracks such as, Axwell's 'Feel The Vibe' and an outstanding remix by the boys of the moment, Haji & Emanuel of Dajae's 'Brighter Days'. Serious thought has gone into selecting tracks for this album, it's exactly what you want a decent House music compilation to be. If this is a fresh start at Hed Kandi then they have done themselves proud and should keep up the good work and always keep it Kandi.
