I once had this album and have just bought it again, it is possibly one of the most electrifying set of vocals you will hear on one album! With Bonnie Tyler's total eclipse and have you ever seen the rain sending shivers down your back, and Meatloaf's piercing vocals making your hair stand on end, you can't go wrong. This album is truly amazing and is one you can play repeatedly. Should you be a fan of one or the other, here you will love both. They do not sing together but they do not need to (although that would be good to listen to) they have everything they need on there own, I would recommend this to anyone who is a true music fan, and if you are new to either of the two this is the perfect album to start with. I give top marks to them both! Well done.

I bought this CD when I was visiting the U.K. because I think Meat Loaf is an incredible singer and Bonnie Tyler's Total Eclipse of the Heart and Have You Ever Seen The Rain pull at my heart strings. I had never seen the CD in Canada (someone should think about marketing it here). The CD is among my favourites and I play it at work, travelling, whatever. The only reason I put four stars is that I think they should have done at least one duet.

Although people have said that they were disappointed because they assumed this CD would have duets by Meat Loaf and Bonnie Tyler, I thought it was very good. I'm a big Tyler fan, but this was my first Meat Loaf CD and a great introduction. It's nice to be able to get so many good Steinman songs on one album. I do agree with the other reviewers, though, that a CD of Tyler/Meat Loaf duets would be excellent. Especially singing the duet version of Total Eclipse of the Heart.

Excellent songs, good value and great to sing along to in the car or listen to at home. Meat Loaf at his best.

This is a compilation of two artists produced by Jim Steinman in the 1970s/80s, a kind of 'Best Of Steinman'.

If you enjoy overpowering classic rock, you'll love the sound on this album. There are highlights from Meat's legendary 'Bat Out Of Hell' and Tyler's successful 'Faster Than The Speed Of Night'. A lot of the songs that you automatically think of when you hear their names are here: 'Bat Out Of Hell', 'Total Eclipse Of The Heart', 'You Took The Words Right Out Of My Mouth' and 'Holding Out For A Hero'.

Here you have 14 original tracks, performed by the original artists, but this is NOT a duets album (despite what the misleading cover photo suggests), all songs are sang separately (although 'Dead Ringer For Love', Meat's duet with Cher is included).

If you want a compilation of tracks by similar artists at the peak of their musical careers, produced by the great Steinman - you should buy this. At this price - you can't lose really!

The Jim Steinman touch is prolific throughout this album. Couple this with two of the most powerful voices in rock history to achieve what must be one of the best compilation albums ever.

A con!! 2 great singers with fading careers have had there photo taken together, but don't actually sing together! This is not a new collection, but old songs strung together to make money out of their fans. Top marks for the music - minus 100 for the nerve.
