have enjoyed rading piers anthony in the past and am now realizing what an extremeley clever and literate the man is. Littered with puns andclever play on words prince dolph sets out on a mission and finds to his surprise that he begins to accept that grown ups do sometimes know what they are talking about although he is also on the hunt for the explanation of the adult conspiracy which stops him knowing about the calling of the stork. He has adventures with his good friend marrow, who is a skeleton.Heaven Cent (The Magic of Xanth)

Where has the Good Magician Humfrey disappeared to? Dolph, a nine year old prince, is determined to find out just to show up all the adults, especially his bossy big sister Ivy. With Marrow Bones, an animated skeleton, he sets off on his adventure. He doesn't find the magician but gets betrothed to two girls - the right one and the wrong one - along the way.

If you like any other Xanth novels, you will love this. It is as pun-filled as usual and explores aspects of the magical land of Xanth that haven't been covered in earlier novels e.g. the skeleton keys (islands) off the coast of Xanth, of which Centaur Isle is just one.

Heaven Cent introduces some new Xanth characters like the Fee and some 'old' characters like Magician Murphy and Sorceress Tapis. Ever wondered who else was around at the time of Castle Roogna's construction? Wanted to know more about the dream realm in the Gourd? Well read this book! Any Xanth fan will not be disappointed.

One of the best fiction series ever made! 2 Dec 1998
By A Customer - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Mass Market Paperback
This is one of the best books in the Xanth trilogy. Nine-year-old Prince Dolph is on a quest to find the Good Magician Humphrey. Everyone had been looking for the Good Magician, and so far no one had a clue where he went. But Dolph was determined to find out. With his trusted companion Marrow Bones, Dolph went out for an adventure. His books are very punny and have lots of adventure, and even more so in this book.

The absolute Best! 24 Jan 1999
By Cpetot@clemson.edu - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Mass Market Paperback
Heaven Cent was the first Anthony book that I had the pleasure of reading. This book about prince Dolph, son of Dor and Irene, is absolutlely charming. Dolph goes on a quest to find out what happened to Magician Humphrey, accompanied by Marrow Bones. Dolph being a young boy finds himself in the strangest of situations. The young prince ends up being bethrothed to two different girls, Nada Naga and Electra. This humorous book is sure to make you love Piers and his sense of humor, though I do suggest that you start from the begining with A Spell For Chameleon. This will make the reading much more enjoyable.

Characters & Talents are awesome 26 Oct 1998
By A Customer - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Mass Market Paperback
The best thing about Piers Anthony's Xanth novels are the young men and women who battle with the right and honoirable thing to do. This one stands out among 23, along with A Spell for Chameleon, Castle Roogna, Ogre Ogre, and Question Quest. Dolph's talent of shape-changing makes it a lot of fun. I like when the dragon and merwoman have two different concepts of the fire-water-sand game. Nine-year-old kids with awesome talents who get to hug hot women are lots of fun to read about. Five stars.
