As a life long aviation enthusiast who must be about the same age as the author I found this to be an excellent book bringing back many happy memories of visits to the airport before it became almost a no-go area for the enthusiast. The text is easy to read and describes the developement of the airport from the days of tented arrival / departure areas. The pictures depicting the progress of types seen at the airport over the period are well reproduced and enhance the text. Most definately a book for those who remember the halcyon days when the visiting public, be they just watching or seeing people off on their flights were actually catered for, or with an interest in aviation in general.
