A slightly odd coupling: twice a slightly augmented band, but with quite different concepts in mind. The Latin part is very danceable and often exciting ("Say Si Si" is a real scorcher and one of the most thrilling versions of this overplayed tune to date), but without real surprises as to choice of material. All are wonderfully arranged and performed though.
The West Side Story bit (which finds the band in a concert mode) is at times slightly less felicitous. "Get Me To The Church" is not something Ted might want to be remembered for and at times the band sounds a little tired. The shouting versions of "Jubilation T. Cornpone" and "Seventy Six Trombones" however make up for some lesser tunes and welcome is the addition of two beautifully arranged and performed bonus tracks that did not appear on the original album.
