Superb writing. As the author of Blood Sisters (Book One Of The Hanna and Carla Series), I would like to congratulate the author for a splendid book.
Exciting plot lines, exhilarating action, romance and humour in abundance together with strong, believable characters make this book worth every penny.
Well done, Miss Mathis.

5.0 out of 5 stars Heat Wave-EDGY,AWESOME!! 3 Oct 2012

WOW!! The third book in the Melanie Ward series is AWESOME!! I finished the book ready to start reading the next one!!! Kate Mathis,as in her first two books, has an instinctive grasp of the reality of the bizarre chameleon role that IS her main character's life!! Each book gets more intricate, and the manner in which the main Character's personal life is so different than her professional life continues to fascinate, amuse, and compel the reader to reevaluate WHO Melanie Ward really is!! 5 Stars!!! 5.0 out of 5 stars This book kicks butt! 27 Dec 2012

I really enjoyed the first two books and so when Heat Wave was released I was pretty excited to start reading it. At the start of the book, Melanie is in a dark place due to the events that took place during book two. However, she still kicks espionage butt and puts her heart into developing newer agents. What has made this book the best one of the series so far is Kate Mathis' ability to weave Melanie's daily espionage work along with the underlying plot of corruption along while also showing us a more human side of Melanie when she is with her family, especially her niece, and friends. I like that her love/personal life is messy but done in a smart way that doesn't make her seem too cold nor ditzy. I did have an issue with how Adam came across in this book initially especially the role he had in the other 2 books but towards the end of the book, the author revels more and now I can see him as a pretty cool character moving forward in this series. I look forward to reading her next book. My wish is that the author continues the series with a blend of events that showcase Melanie with her family/friends while also demonstrating her kick-butt spy agent side and maturing her relationship even if slowly. I would hate for Melanie's character to fall into predicament of other characters like Stephanie Plum or Brandy Alexander.

5.0 out of 5 stars From Hot to HOTTER! 22 Oct 2012

Heat Wave Book 3 of the Melissa Ward Agent series has me dying for tbe next book. I get frustrated by all the assumptions she jumps to in her personal life that take so long for her to get straight, but she is a real kick ass agent with little fear. And Adam stole my heart from the beginning. I want them to get together and hold on to each other. Who better to understand aside from each other? Need that 4th book. NOW!

5.0 out of 5 stars Great read! Just what I was hoping for! 24 Sep 2012

I really enjoyed this book and couldn't put it down! There is plenty of action, some romance, and some really fun banter between Melanie and her friends, which I love probably the most!

There were two situations that I kind of got lost on. I don't write spoilers, just generalizations. Melanie meets with an agent and afterwards she is able to walk away from the situation without any action to those surrounding her or a debriefing on what happened? It didn't seem like Melanie to know and not act, and it just left me a bit confused.

Then there was a part further on in the book where a situation occurs, I am assuming by her, because her friends are worried for her safety but I couldn't really get a grasp on how close it had been. Could be just me, but I read each passage several times over and still couldn't quite get it to line up just right.

Other than that, I thought this book was great! I really can't wait for the next book and I am super happy that there is a time frame already out for it! It definitely makes the waiting more bearable. Buy this book, you won't be sorry!
