I had this book in my wish list and I just finished reading it, but I was quite disappointed... The writing was barely adequate and therefore the lame story shone through: over the top hero who is not capable of love (his own words but off course he can), over the top story with obstacles after obstacles and purple prose, just a bit, but it was the final straw..

Kat Martin is a recent discovery for me. Her heros are moody and magnificent and her heroines gentle but determined. This is the first of a good trilogy - 'The Fire Inside' and 'Fanning The Flame' being the others. Good reads if you like regency romance with a bit of sexual heat!

This was the first Kat Martin book I've read and I can't wait to read more. The hero and heroine were both believeable and real and I could relate to both of them. Justin was the typical tall, dark and handsome type and Ariel was the sort of woman who knew what she wanted and how to go about getting it. Brilliant. Very well written.
