The town of Hudson in the foothills of the Rocky Mountains is home to Heartland, a family ranch dedicated to rescuing and rehabilitating troubled horses. After a tragedy puts the ranch in jeopardy, sixteen-year-old Amy must use her talents as a horse healer to save the family business. Her sister Lou reluctantly leaves city life behind to help Amy and their grandfather Jack run the ranch.
Season Two follows Amy and Lou's life on the ranch as Amy faces her feelings for Ty, the young ranch hand who has been living on Heartland as a part of his probation, while Lou adjusts to her new life in the country. Their father, Tim makes a concerted effort to establish himself as a legitimate rancher while re-connecting with the daughters he left behind.

I watched all 3 series on dvd the 3rd I just could not wait for and ordered from Amazon ca. It arrived within 2 days of release. Please don't dismiss it because you think you are too old to watch and enjoy what you think is a childs programme.
I enjoy it and I am 50yrs old I have also watch the 4th series via the internet, I was even happier when I herd that there would be a series 5.
They are repeating the 2nd series at present on E4 in London and I am still taping and watching when I come home from work. So don't dismiss it give it a try It's hard to see how the whole family will not enjoy it.

i love this show..i stumbled across it a couple of years ago online..and have been hooked ever since..though i am sad that it's only season two being released as i've seen up to season four..and soon season five will begin..
great to watch, even for the whole family!!!

This is a fantastic series from Canada. It follows a farm ranch in the Rocky Mountains called Heartland which is dedicated to rescuing and rehabilitating troubled horses, and the lives of the people who live there. Think of an up to date Black Beauty / Follyfoot type of series for all the family.
This is shown in Canada peak time sunday evenings on CBC and is huge. It is already on season 5 there.
It has finally been released on dvd in this country. The Canadian region 1 dvd release is very classy with all singing and dancing menus,in a big fold out cardboard pack, however this UK region 2 release is very cheap and cheerful low budget with several mistakes and no episode titles whatsoever, just a frame from each episode and an episode number.
This is very annoying, especially on disc 5 because-
EPISODES 17 AND 18 ARE BACK TO FRONT!!!
This ruins the big build to the season finale, so watch 18 first, then 17.
Also, on the bonus features- THE SERIES IS CALLED HEARTLAND.... Not HEARTLANDS -which they spelled wrong 10 times.
All in all, however , I do recommend this series. I am totally hooked. This is one of the best shows on television. Do not think of it as a throw away kids show. It is well worth watching.

Very enjoyable series.
Light entertainment, lovely horses and scenery a watchable series. Nice to find something with horses and Canada is a beautiful country.

Most enjojable but watch out for the last 2 episodes in this series.
I have thoroughly enjoyed watching all the episodes so far, however there is a maufactures error on disc 5 of this series. Episode 17 is in fact 18 and episode 18 is 17. Read more
