Book Description

1 Nov 2013
When David Plowden travelled from the American East Coast to the Midwest, he was stunned by the landscape. In the years that followed he became enthralled by its vast open spaces and wildly changing skies. Fields of wheat, grain and corn, farms and grain stores became the subjects of his photographs. The best of his work over the past thirty-five years is presented here, impeccably reproduced in a generous format that does justice to the work of one of America's foremost photographers and printmakers.

4.0 out of 5 stars Excellent photography creates mood. 11 Dec 2013

Excellent B+W photography. Strongly creates mood. Perhaps there is a little more repetition of the theme than the not already inspired viewer needs.

3.0 out of 5 stars Beautiful pics but rather repetitive 29 Jan 2014
By B. Billings - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Hardcover|Verified Purchase
Having grown up on the plains, I decided to buy this book to display in my home. There are some beautiful pictures here but by the middle of the book they get rather repetitive. Far too many pictures of grain elevators. But the stark beauty of the plains and also the skies are worth the purchase.
